Award-winning, internationally exhibited and published fine art photographer, Sonya Tanae Fort stumbled onto photography in 2013 when doing her nephew the favor of taking his high school yearbook portraits. She began her career as a fine artist in 2018 under the tutelage of Martha Tepper Takayama (Tepper Takayama Fine Arts of Boston). In Sonya's words, "As a photographer I am blessed with a 'SUPERPOWER' of sorts—the ability to suspend and memorialize moments in time. Those moments then become part of history. So, I strive to capture the very essence of each sentient being, inanimate object or landscape that I photograph."

For these afternoon sessions, artists active in the local community are invited to the Danforth Museum to share their work with the audience as they talk about their art and process. Guests will have the chance to ask questions and talk with the artists in an informal setting. This is an opportunity to be inspired by artists not currently on view at the museum.
